“Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen.” — John Steinbeck
I have a great respect for John Steinbeck who was an American writer widely known for the Pulitzer- winning novel “The Grapes of Wrath” in 1939. I read and reread this quote of John Ernst Steinbeck several times and the more I read this quote, I realized the wisdom that lay concealed in it.
The wisdom of this quote is to handle the ideas that come suddenly and before these ideas disappear like rabbits one needs to find a simple way to handle them. I have tried in the last few days to implement this idea toward Social Media Platforms. The Social Media Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Stumbleupon, Digg and Pinterest come out with such awesome and at times not so awesome posts and this provides so many ideas to develop one’s creativity. But what is important is to seize such ideas as these are like rabbits and can just disappear. Ideas that hold your interests and touch your heart should find a way into these platforms for retrieving at a later date. The importance of this lies in preventing clutter and being able to easily extract what appeals to you.
I have devoted a fair of time to understand these awesome platforms. I am still learning and will continue to learn and help myself and my fellow beings about the importance of learning to handle ideas as fast as they come and as fast as they can disappear like rabbits.
The Pinterest Platform with its boards and pins is a tremendous platform to store and retrieve your ideas in a very effective way. I have started using this platform and am sure as technology develops it would be a bigger challenge to learn to handle ideas.
