RAMADAN KAREEM

The Arabic phrase people use to wish during Ramadan is ‘Ramadan Kareem’. Ramadan Kareem means ‘Ramadan is generous’ and is used to wish happiness during the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

The word Kareem means nobly generous or magnanimous in the Arabic language. In a Muslim calendar year, Ramadan is the 9th month in which all Muslims wish each other Ramadan Kareem.

The phrase ‘Ramadan Mubarak’ is also popular among the Muslim community in South Asia. In Arabic language, Mubarak means blessed.@rootsbd.com
