“Peace occurs between heterogeneous social groups and is characterized by a lack of conflict and freedom from fear of violence. Commonly understood as the absence of hostility, peace often involves compromise, and therefore is initiated with thoughtful listening and communication to enhance and create mutual understanding.”
Toastmaster of the Evening DTM Sujatha Parthasarathy role-play began by the above Wikipedia definition of peace and all through her role play, the theme of the meeting “Peace” was brilliantly essayed through symbols of peace with simple explanations of the importance of a peaceful coexistence in our world that is unfortunately at times so chaotic, and strife ridden. A dedicated toastmaster DTM Sujatha wore a stunning beautiful white dress to effectively symbolize the theme of the meeting while showing glimpses of her immense communication and leadership talents along with her gifted voice that mesmerizes her audience in any role play during a Toastmaster meeting.
The role plays that stood out were the Project speeches particularly the ones by TM Tabassum, TM Nidhi and TM Jayakrishnan, the superb clinical evaluations by TM Abraham, TM Loyola Pinto, TM Sanjay Vissa and the maiden “Thought for the Evening” by TM Elma together with the classic award winning table topic attempt by guest Yogesh.
There was fun, there was learning and above all such an enjoyable meeting that our champion table topic speaker TM Abraham Thomas rightly stated that he is at peace when attending an Abu Dhabi Toastmaster meeting. Indeed! Peace can never be perceived in any one finite form as it can be interpreted in infinite ways while experiencing joy and happiness in the day to day moments of life.
